Why top companies scout talent on curated platforms

I decided to test a few methods for displaying design projects online. My initial choice for hosting my work turned out to be far too restrictive for my needs. The outcome was a bunch of empty views and no useful feedback. I discovered that thoughtful presentation trumps overdesigned visuals every time.

I found a useful article on exactly this problem at https://dribbble.com/.

After applying this selective method my inbox began filling with real inquiries. Showing rough sketches alongside polished finals gave my work much more credibility. Including every concept draft only confused people who saw the gallery. Removing the weak ones was hard at first but it instantly improved the impression.

Getting an outside perspective from peers saved me from keeping mediocre work. They pointed out that splashy graphics without context feel hollow to hiring managers. The recommendations shifted my presentation style completely toward substance.

Reducing my featured work to five core items boosted the response rate enormously. I stopped chasing fancy effects and focused instead on clarity. My recommendation to anyone starting out is begin with a brutal edit.
