Can someone clarify?

Hey Fangirls! I need some, hopefully spoiler-free, intel.
I started reading ACOTAR and it really grew on me, loving the series so far! I'm on book 3. There are 5 books published so far, no? And I'm under the impression that the 5th book is sort of not continuing the story that carried through the previous books. Is that correct? Has it been revealed how many books there still is to come? Did the 5th one end in a cliffhanger? Patience is not one of my virtues and I would hate having to leave the story unfinished.
Also, started reading Armentrout's Storm and Fury. As my patience is what it is, can someone tell me if there is any spice in it?
