The reason why leading brands scout talent on curated platforms

I decided to test a few methods for displaying design projects online. I started with a big-name portfolio service that felt more like a social network. The results were underwhelming at best. I discovered that thoughtful presentation trumps overdesigned visuals every time.

I found a useful article on exactly this problem at https://dribbble.com/.

After applying this selective method my inbox began filling with real inquiries. Showing rough sketches alongside polished finals gave my work much more credibility. What did not work was trying to include everything I had ever made. Removing the weak ones was hard at first but it instantly improved the impression.

Three friends in the field gave me honest opinions on which pieces held up. What they emphasized was the need for storytelling around each piece. That feedback turned my portfolio from a gallery into a narrative.

Reducing my featured work to five core items boosted the response rate enormously. Removing distracting transitions helped viewers concentrate on what matters. The quickest win I know is removing anything that does not excite you anymore.
